Under Counter Can Opener – Easy To Install?

Does An Under Counter Can Opener Meet Your Needs?

I find an under counter can opener to be one of the most convenient kitchen tools you can have, but is it right for you? Is it easy to install?

I really like the ones that mount right under your counter or under your cabinet because they’re always within arms reach, but there are situations where a traditional can opener is a better choice.

Whether you’ve made a final decision on whether you want a mountable can opener or not, you’ll find what you’re looking for here. I’ve featured several under counter can openers that can be mounted and some high quality traditional can openers in case you decide against a mountable one.

Of course you want to keep your eyes peeled for quality and a good track record. I’m personally not a fan of kitchen appliances that aren’t built well because six months down the road you’ll be very disappointed at the lack of value.

Knowing I’m a person who likes quality, you shouldn’t be surprised that I love the stainless steel one’s the best. They don’t take much counter space, they look really nice, and they have great reviews. There’s an under counter can opener with a stainless steel strip, and there are several traditional stainless steel can openers.

Black and Decker Under Counter Can Openers

And Black And Decker counter top can openers for comparison.

Black and Decker is a trusted name in home appliances, so what better brand to use to compare the under counter can openers with traditional can openers? You’ll be able to get a good idea about their differences by viewing them together, and by clicking on their images to read reviews on Amazon.

The first models I want to share with you are the best Black and Decker under counter can openers. You just mount them right under the counter or even under a cabinet and you’re on your way to opening cans with ease. The first two are mountable under a cabinet or counter. My choice of the two would be the Black & Decker CO100 SpaceMaker because of the extra features and excellent reviews. Most people choose this one when shopping for a can opener that can be mounted, and you can see that by the amount of reviews. It’s a popular one for sure!

The other four in this section are traditional counter top can openers, but many include cord storage to help save space. These are the kind that have been around for years. You can either store them on your counter or you can keep them in one of your cabinets and pull it out whenever you need it. The sleek and modern designs with some of these make leaving them on the counter less of a nuisance. I don’t know if you prefer a certain size or shape but I would rather prefer a narrow one that stands up straight because of the attractiveness and the functionality. Big cans? No problem!

Have You Decided On A Style?

Above you were able to compare both styles of the same brand and most likely have decided which style to choose. So, did you choose a mountable under the cabinet can opener or the traditional one? If you opted for the traditional one you’ll find more options below!

Traditional Under the Cabinet Electric Can Openers

A few of my favorites.

If you’re still here, you’ve most likely decided against a mountable can opener and opted to stick with a traditional one. Do you know what you’re looking for? Do you know what’s available? If not, leave that to me and I’ll show you what’s out there.

If you are looking for something different, then may I suggest a red can opener. Red is becoming more trendy for kitchen appliances and may be something to consider if you want to brighten things up and it works with your existing kitchen decor. I think the red one’s look really slick and fun!

The Brentwood is great if you’re looking for a slim can opener to save counter space. It’s great because it can open large cans!

As I mentioned above, the stainless steel can openers are my favorites, so I featured a few great choices here. I have one question though, where are the blue can openers. I’ve never seen a blue one, and I want a blue one!

Under the Cabinet Can Opener in Stainless Steel

I shouldn’t tempt myself by talking with you about these under the cabinet can opener in stainless steel. My favorite one by far that I’ve personally seen is the Cuisinart one. It’s really small and won’t take up a lot of counter or cabinet space. It looks very high quality and stylish as well, which is what I’m looking for.

I wanted to note that you can’t mount any of these to the wall or anything else. These are strictly one’s you place under the cabinet in case you decided against the mountable style.

What is it about stainless steel that makes it so popular? In recent years stainless appliances are the choice for most home owners. Do you prefer this type or the plastic type?

Black Can Openers

Black Under Counter Can Openers

When I was in college and just out of college I would have preferred a black can opener. I like the black because it seems you don’t have to clean them as much to keep them looking great because of the dark color, and that would have appealed to me when I was in college because I was so busy.

These are all very nice looking and when you’re done using them you can store them under the counter which is what we do with most other items like coffee makers and toasters, especially if we’re short on counter space.

White Can Openers

If you are more traditional and like white kitchen appliances or you have a white stove and fridge, these would be a natural choice for you. Like the stainless steel one’s, they seem to be cleaner looking, but with the added bonus of being easy to care for. No special cleaners needed to keep them looking their best, just a few swipes with a rag as you clean your counters after a meal

I like the ones with the knife sharpeners because they cut down on clutter and add value, but I love the adjustable can opener below! Big cans or little cans, it’s always perfect.
