The Tao of Jeet Kune Do Book Review

The Tao of Jeet Kune Do

The Tao of Jeet Kune Do written by Bruce Lee

Considered to be the official handbook of Jeet Kune Do, The Tao of Jeet Kune Do was written entirely by Bruce Lee in his own words and he even draw all of the illustrations throughout the book.

The Tao of Jeet Kune Do is one of my favorite Bruce Lee books of all time. I have personally owned two copies of this book.

While many were learning rigid katas and breaking boards, Bruce Lee was developing a style of fighting that was unique and worked for him. Actual street fighting techniques that would save his life in the event of a mugging or being attacked. It was this idea of using what was useful and discarding what isn’t that formed the ground work for Jeet Kune Do.

Own the book that started the Jeet Kune Do world. You may have heard of Bruce Lee the movie star, but martial artists know him as much more. This in-depth compilation of original notes and sketches is an invaluable addition to every martial artist’s library and a look at the serious side of Bruce Lee for the fan.

The Tao of Jeet Kune Do

Compiled from Bruce Lee’s notes and essays and originally published in 1975, this iconic volume is one of the seminal martial arts guides of its time. The science and philosophy behind the fighting system Lee pioneered himself—jeet kune do—is explained in detail, depicted through hundreds of Lee’s own illustrations.

With the collaboration of Lee’s daughter, Shannon, and Bruce Lee Enterprises, this new edition is expanded, updated, and remastered, covering topics such as Zen and enlightenment, kicking, striking, grappling, and footwork. Featuring an introduction by Linda Lee, this is essential reading for any practitioner, offering a brief glimpse into the mind of one of the world’s greatest martial artists.

Thomas began searching and digging for gold on a website called Squidoo.com. Thomas quickly added to his little gold stash that was tucked away under the flimsy mattress assigned to him at the campsite. Thomas was a hard worker and a smart thinker, well ahead of the rest of the miners around the campfire. That is what set him apart from the crowd of miners gathering at the hill, all hoping to strike it rich.
