SEO Tips and Advice for Posting at Webnuggetz.com
Have a Love Affair with Google
Sharing my SEO Tips and Advice with all of you. Why do we love to write on sites like Webnuggetz.com? Sure we all hope to make some money for our efforts, but we also like to have a place to share our thoughts and opinions. It is great to have an opinion, but what good is it if no one ever finds your page to read it? What can you do to get your page or blog post more readers?
I was asked in the Webnuggetz Forums to make a post with some SEO tips for our posts here at Webnuggetz.com. So here are a few off the top of my head. A lot of things going on in there so bear with me!
S.E.O.? What is it?
Search engine optimization. Optimizing your blog post in a way that makes it more search engine friendly. There are many ways to properly format your text, images, links, and videos to make the most out of your blog post.
Formatting your Text for Better Placement in Search Engines
When you begin your blog post here at Webnuggetz.com, you should have a 3 to 4 word key phrase in mind for focus of your article. It helps to research your chosen key phrase and adjust it to a better targeted term if possible. Many experts have many theories and techniques they follow to determine their key phrase. Lesley has a great post about picking the right keywords.
Placement of your Key Phrase
Once you have picked your key phrase, the next step is placement and how many times you use it. Your key phrase should be placed in the following areas of your blog post…
URL of the Blog Post
The web address of your blog post should contain your key phrase only

Main Title of the Blog Post
Best Pizza Crust Recipe should be the title of your blog post. The url of your blog post is set when you make your main title.
Introduction Title of the Blog Post
I like to include an introduction title in all of my blog posts here at Webnuggetz.com. Using a Header 3 tag is the best practice for creating titles here at Webnuggetz. You may also include a subtitle under a Header 4 tag. The header options are in your toolbar. You will find those by clicking the drop down that says Paragraph.
Within the first sentence of the Blog Post
Your main key phrase should be within the first sentence of your blog post. I like to use a format change to highlight the key phrase. You can use bold, italics or underline, but underline tends to resemble a link too much so I stay away from that one. I suggest using bold for the first key phrase in your first sentence.
Key Phrase as Titles for Sections
When you create a blog post here at webnuggetz.com, you aren’t given modules to pre fill your page. I suggest creating sections within your blog post using H3 header tag titles. These titles should be different variations of your key phrase. For instance, if you are making a recipe post, you will need an Ingredients section. This is a perfect spot to work in your key phrase.
Ingredients:
The above word only uses a bold tag to show it is the next section of your article.
Best Pizza Crust Recipe Ingredients:
By using your key phrase and a header 3 tag it is much better for SEO and key phrase placement.
Optimize Images for Better SEO and Google Rankings
Our image upload tools give you several options for adding your key phrase to your images. Here is an example of a properly optimized image.
Formatting Your Links for More S.E.O. Love
Google and all of the other search engines loves to follow relevant links you provide in your blog post. Providing links to information that is specific to your topic is one of my highly favored SEO techniques. The Google search bots will also reward your site if your links are properly formatted. When you add a link to your blog post here at Webnuggetz.com, you have the option of including a title. This is an extra area to add your key phrase. Format your links correctly for a little bonus love from Google.

Where did I learn SEO?
I studied computers for 3 years in college. Taking all the courses I could for Internet, Web Design, and S.E.O. I do not claim to be an expert. I just know what I know and am happy to share the knowledge. I am not one of those people who likes to run around talking about how they are expert this or expert that. I walk quietly and carry a big stick! Which means, all my back up and proof of my solid techniques lay in the 1000′s of webpages I have built over the last 3 to 4 years.
Ok I Lied, I do Like to Brag!
Some of my successful accomplishments are two squidoo lenses that I have been able to get in the Top 10 rankings at Squidoo.
Currently ranked at #131 today on Squidoo. This lens about the death of Nona Dirksmeyer reached #1 on Squidoo on one occasion. The lens has consistently ranked as a top tier lens on Squidoo since it’s conception in 2008.
Currently ranked #16 today on Squidoo, this Bruce Lee lens was one I built but have since sold it. This lens reached #1 on Squidoo on five different occasions.
