Cold Weather Skin Care
Does Dry, Cracked Skin Got You Down?
If your skin is anything like mine, it just doesn’t like cold weather. It gets dry and flaky, and the corners of my fingers crack and burn like fire.
I found some solutions that help my skin, and I want to share them here with you, so that you can find relief, too. In fact some of them I use year around, because as I get older, my skin needs more pampering than it did when I was younger, though it’s good to get a start on proper skin care at an early age.
Here you will find lotions, creams, and other products that will nourish and pamper your skin in colder weather, and all year long!
#1 Best Seller in Liquid Bandages
If your hands are in water often, or if you do manual labor with them, then you probably have experienced cracked fingers, especially at the corners of your fingernails, however your fingers and hands can get cracks anywhere when they get cold, dry, and overworked.
New Skin works. It really does! Apply it liberally to the cracks as often as needed, and let it heal. It stings when you first apply it, but it takes the pain away, if you keep a nice coat of it on the cracks! It stays on in water, too!
My Favorite Hand & Body Lotions
Curel Lotion is my favorite with Udder Cream a close, close second! I’ve tried other expensive (and inexpensive) brands of lotion, and nothing works as well as these two. Seriously! I always have at least one (usually both) on hand all year around!
This Is a Must-Have for Dry, Cracked Feet!!!
My heels tend to get dry and cracked all year around, however they are usually worse in the winter. Vick’s Vapo Rub (or the store brand equivalent) works to heal and soothe cracked feet! I promise this will work. It also fights fingernail fungus, so I’m told. Apply a coat to your feet after you shower in the morning, then before bed at night. Then once the cracks heal, you can use it once a day. Put socks on after you apply it, so it doesn’t rub off on the carpet or throw rugs. I always buy Family Dollar brand, because I’m frugal and on a tight budget. I don’t care for Dollar Tree brand, though.
Great Products for a Dry Face
I used to have oily, blemished skin as a teen and young adult. In fact my face didn’t show any signs of drying ever until I was in my 40’s, and now that I’m in my 50’s , I use face cream every day all year around. My favorite is Anew by Avon, but I’ve tried others that I like, too.
