Banana Pudding Recipe

Banana Pudding: A Quick and Easy Dessert

Banana pudding is one of my favorite desserts. I’ve always enjoyed it. I now make it with sugar-free pudding, though, because I’m Diabetic. Even if you’re watching your sugar or caloric intake, you can still occasionally enjoy your favorite dessert recipes.

This really is easy to make and it’s a comfort food that the entire family can enjoy. Make it for a ladies brunch or to pass at a pot luck dinner, too!

Banana pudding is a nice treat at Thanksgiving and Christmas, too. It’s always good to have a variety of desserts, because not everybody wants pie!

I hope you enjoy this easy recipe! Let me know how it turns out for you.

Ingredients and Instructions for Making Banana Pudding

Easy Prep

Prep time: 15 min
Ready in: 15 min
Yields: Approximately 8 servings (more or less).

Ingredients

*2 small boxes Vanilla Pudding – Instant (you can use banana flavored pudding, too, but vanilla is best), You can also use cook and serve, but I prefer instant and I use sugar free.
*4 cups Milk, For the pudding.
*2-3 Bananas, I use 2 good size, but you can adjust amount according to your taste preferences.
*4 dozen Vanilla Wafers (or use honey graham crackers), Amount will vary. Use them to cover bottom of pan and place some on top of completed dish, too.

Instructions
It’s Easy As Pie (Or Should I Say Pudding?)

1. In a rectangular or square cake pan (really you can use any pan or dish), line the bottom of the pan with vanilla wafers or honey graham crackers (I like both, but used wafers for this recipe).

2. Mix your pudding according to the directions on the box. 2 boxes take 4 cups of milk. I use a whisk to mix it. Mix until nice and thick.

3. Slice 2 or 3 bananas about 1/4″ thick and stir them into the pudding.

4. Pour the pudding/banana mixture over the wafers. If you use a smaller pan, you can place some more wafers on top then pour remaining pudding over them.

5. Place vanilla wafers on top. They look nice and they taste great!

6. Let sit in the refrigerator for several hours or overnight. You can really eat some right away, but I prefer for my wafers or graham crackers to soften before I eat my banana pudding.

Keeping It Simple

I enjoy recipes that are quick and easy. I’m not married nor do I have any children, so I only have myself to cook for and the occasional friend. If I had a family to cook for, I might enjoy more in-depth recipes, but just for myself, the easier and quicker the better I like it!

This banana pudding recipe is so easy, I actually enjoy preparing it. And when I can share it with friends and family that’s just an added pleasure!

I hope you enjoy making one of my favorite desserts, too! Good ole banana pudding.

Will You Make and Take Banana Pudding?

So what’s the verdict? Will you take banana pudding to your next function? As long as it doesn’t have to sit in a hot room or outside in hot weather, it should be fine. You can sit the dish over ice to keep it cool if needed, when taking it to a pot luck or other function where it won’t be eaten immediately.

People are sure to enjoy this fabulous recipe! Desserts are always a hit at parties and other functions!
