Lego Sets Just Get Better and Better

From the time my oldest son got his first bucket of Duplo blocks till the day he moved away, I can’t remember a time when there wasn’t Legos at my house. Friends gave him a shoebox full of their old Legos to add to his and the collection continued to grow and grow. But it’s been 15 years (at least) since the last Lego blocks “left the building” and while I’ve bought a few for friends’ kids, I really hadn’t paid too much attention to the latest ones for a while.

Have you seen some of the incredible sets available?? I do home organizing and was just with a client this past week who was trying to make room for all the new things her daughter got for Christmas. Among them were new Lego Friends and Belville – themed block set especially for girls. Love ‘em! Then I was on the hunt to see what other Lego sets I could find. We’ve come a long way from the basic building and space themed Legos my son played with! Now there’s LEGO Architecture, Adventurers, Bionicles and even Harry Potter themed block sets. They just seem to get better and better, don’t they?

LEGO Trivia

Did you know that the standard “minifig” – that little yellow Lego with a hole in its head – actually was designed with child safety in mind? According to an article in Gizmodo, Lego officials revealed the hole in the head of minifig was just in case a kidlet swallowed it and got it stuck in its’ throat. The hold would allow them to still be able to breathe.
